Last month we shared with you about our newly graduated Montessori schoolteachers. Trained and certified, they were ready to begin their careers, and all four of them want to help start a Montessori school at our Las Alitas center. Meantime while we wait for our little school to get started, Yvonne was hired at the same Montessori kindergarten where she had done her internship and was happily working there.
However some weeks into her new job, she developed a cough. It got increasingly worse, and soon she started coughing up blood. Scared and worried, her mother took her to the emergency room, and Yvonne was admitted to the hospital for further testing. Right away the medical staff suspected tuberculosis due to the amount of blood she was coughing up.
We went to see her at the hospital. It was very scary because she was coughing up a lot of blood clots. She was pale and had lost weight, classic symptoms of TB, and sure enough, an MRI showed lesions in her lungs.
We gathered around her and began to pray. “Lord Jesus, we ask you to heal Yvonne from any disease or sickness she has. Nothing is impossible for you.” After praying with her for a while, the coughing stopped, and she rested quietly. We left so she could sleep.
From that moment on, the cough never came back. Her color returned, as did her appetite. After a few days of observation and more testing, Yvonne was released from the hospital with a clean bill of health. Praise God, she was healed! She’s back to work, back playing soccer (which she loves) and running hard on the field. She’s doing great.
