Pictured here is the old 10,000-gallon water tank at the Lord’s Food Bank in Juarez, Mexico. This tank supplies the water for our ministry as well as free water to anyone, day or night, who needs it in this area. Often the city water supply is cut off, and sometimes people can go for hours and even days without access to water. In those times, they trudge up to the Food Bank and fill containers from our tank which is filled from our own well on the property.
However, the water tank was leaking badly, and after repairing it for years, it reached a point where we needed a new one. After searching around and not finding a replacement, we decided to take one of the water tanks from the Lord’s Ranch and cross it over to Juarez. This was the secondary tank at the Ranch, and we will have to replace it, but in the meantime, the need was dire at the Food Bank.
Crossing the tank was an involved process. First, we hired a crane for $600 to take the Ranch tank down and put it on a truck. Then we had to hire a broker to help us cross it into Mexico. He had to transfer the tank to one of his semi-trailers, and his driver had to navigate the very narrow and windy dirt roads leading up to the Food Bank. Another crane came to take the old Food Bank tank down, take the Ranch tank off of the semi, and lift it onto the platform.
Despite the obstacles along the way (and I gave you the abbreviated version of the story here), and with God’s help and a generous donation to cover the broker fees, the replacement water tank is installed and providing clean water to those in need.
