We are entering the season of graduations, which is always a time of joy, hope, and promise for students completing their programs of study. A graduation event takes on even more meaning when one comes from a background of poverty, financial struggle, and uncertainty.
Pictured here is Guadalupe (Lupita). She grew up near our eastside center, Las Alitas, and is deeply involved in our ministries. She volunteered as one of our Confirmation class coordinators and serves her peers with dedication and joy. Determined to pursue her education, she persevered through grade school and high school despite many challenges and trials.

We are deeply committed to helping the young people we serve receive the best possible education. In addition to operating our own Montessori school with an enrollment of 100 students from pre-K through 6th grade, we provide scholarships, food assistance, and tutoring. Without this additional support, many of these students would not be able to stay in school.
Gabriel and Lorena Rodriguez, who lead our outreach at Las Alitas, attended Lupita’s graduation to celebrate that joyful day with her. Lupita also received the Virtue of a Merciful Heart award, honoring a student who demonstrated compassion and mercy in an exemplary way.

We are so proud of Lupita and look forward to supporting her in her future goals and pursuits.
May God bless her and all the graduates we love and celebrate.
