Medical clinic update

Kids arriving for clinic day.

There is never a “usual day” at The Lord’s Clinic, which operates out of our main Food Bank in Juarez, Mexico. People come to this free medical clinic with a wide variety of ailments. Some parents bring their children for regular checkups or for common childhood ailments like sore throats, chicken pox, or earaches. Others come with more serious complaints, but everyone is greeted, prayed with, and attended to by our volunteer doctors and nurses.

Guadalupe, with her daughter, showing us her new prosthetic leg.

Guadalupe came to us last month needing help to get a prosthesis. She had lost her leg due to complications from diabetes quite a few years ago, and we had gotten her fitted with a prosthetic leg at that time. That one wore out and now she needed a replacement, so we set her up to get another one. (There is a shadow in the picture, but perhaps you can see the metal limb sticking out of her pants leg.) She is happy to be mobile and walking freely once again.

As we enter into this festive time of Christmas, we are reminded again of how we could not do all that we do without the faithful support of our friends and donors. As a way to give back, we are placing a basket in our community chapel for any prayer intentions you want to send us. We will be interceding for all of those intentions throughout the month of December, so please send us your prayer requests so we can join you in praying for those needs.

May the Lord bless you and all your loved ones with peace, joy, and abundant grace.

Have a very Merry Christmas!
