Jesus prays that we be consecrated to the truth. To be consecrated means to be set apart, appointed for, dedicated to. Just like we have bowls and knives that are set apart for certain things, so too are the disciples of Christ. We are called to be set apart for truth.

We need to have a conversion to the truth. Being committed to the truth is going to be costly and require sacrifice. It may even lead to martyrdom.
